Franklin Institute, Philadelphia

The kids and I had a trip up to Philly for a little end of summer vacation with Nana, and now that Mom is in the city... I was eager to start exploring it with Sam and Annarose. The first place on the must "do" list was go to the Franklin Institute. We used to go there as kids with my parents, and it has all kinds of great memories for me.
It is a giant museum that pre-dates the "Please Touch" style museums that are so popular now. There are trains to get into and ride, planes to climb in and all kinds of experiments ranging in machines, electricity, the human body and a planetarium. All dedicated in the name of Big Ben, see below.
Climbing through the human heart! By far, Sam's favorite part, he did it like 15 times. It is pretty neat.
Outside the heart, which Mom can remembers climbing through as a kid too.
Sam the fighter pilot, and Annarose the co pilot.
Learning to fly with wings!
Landing a 747
Sam's impression of an astronaut during lift off!
Even if you can't get into the science thing, just walking through the building is amazing. Dang, they just don't make it like they used too.
